Intel® Processor Identification Utility Main Features:
  • Frequency Test: Runs a frequency test to determine the internal speed the processor is running. The utility examines internal data in the processor, compares this data with the operating frequency it measured, and informs the user of the overall system status.
  • CPU Technologies: Reads the internal registers of the processor to identify and display which Intel processor technologies the processor supports.
  • CPUID Data: Identifies Intel® processors by reading a precise instruction embedded in the processor. The utility translates this instruction and uses it to display information about the processor.
  • Save link: Generates a text log file, which includes all of the information gathered by the Intel Processor Identification Utility. The utility prompts for a filename and location to save the log file. Multiple writes (in a multiprocessor system, for example) append to the same log file.
  • Web Update link: Opens the default web browser to the Intel web site of the latest version of the Intel Processor Identification Utility.
  • Help file: Includes the following topics and explanations:
    • Multiprocessor or Dual Processor Support
    • Multi-language Support
